The long history and a host of historicalbuildings characterize Beijing, the capital city of China. Thus, itis advisable for you to visit places including the Summer Palace,the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. These two pictures are particularly worth concernfor the reason that the painter focuses his eyesight on what thetruly reading is. In the first cartoon, there is a youngster,sitting leisurely and comfortably in a chair and flaunting hislarge number of books, with no book in hands. However, in the rightpicture, although the guy has just a few books, he has made hismind to try his utmost to read 20 books in this year. SeveralChinese characters, finally, can be noticed, which say “havingbooks” and “reading books”.
In the contemporary society, a host of peopleprefer to purchase, store and even flaunt their books, but they maynever read any books. This trend is rather ridiculous. As a matterof fact, every one should bear in mind that books should be readnot be boasted. As a positive habit, reading books brings usknowledge, arouses our enthusiasm for future life and helps us toenhance our quality. It is books that enable us to build up notonly knowledge, but also a confidence, optimism and courage to faceany adversities in life, work and study. Unfortunately, many peoplehave books but never read, which has constituted an obstacle thathinders their growth and progress.
I, as a college student, am convinced that thesociety as a whole should forge a wholesome atmosphere to advocate,educate and encourage all people to not only purchase books, butalso to be absorbed in reading books.
