Unlike most period dramas, the series focuses on the brotherhood between the two male leads played by Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. On the show, Wang plays a hero who seems to be cold hearted, but is actually very kind and righteous. Despite his recent achievement in acting, Wang was previously best known for being a member of the Chinese South Korean boy group UNIQ. At the age of 14, he stood out in the National IBD Street Dance Competition and got the chance to be a trainee in an entertainment company.
