Having some cookies and reading in Saturady morning,

在星期六的早晨吃些饼干和读书

Looking out of the windows with hot air spurted out in Summer Days..

夏日里，炙热的风从窗外喷薄而出。

微尘 mote，/mt/ ，人生中微小得不值一提的灰尘，甚至细碎得微不可见。

例：In those warm beams, the motes kept dancing up and down.

只见温暖的光芒里面， 微细的灰尘在上下飞扬。

栋梁 beam， /bim/ n.横梁， 泛指有非凡才能的人，出自南朝·宋《世说新语·赏誉》:"庾子嵩目和峤，森森如千丈松，虽磊砢有节目，施之大厦，有栋梁之用。"

文章标题巧妙地使用了反语，本就相反的两个词汇，是如何能巧妙地联系在一起呢？

It is curious that our own offenses should seem so much less heinousthan the offenses of others. I suppose the reason is that we know all the circumstances that have occasioned them and so manage to excuse in ourselves what we cannot excuse in others.

奇妙的是，我们总认为自身的过错比别人犯的过错轻微。我认为，原因应该在于我们已熟知一切导致自己犯错的原因，而能够轻易地原谅自己，却不能原谅别人。

We turn our attention away from our own defects, and when we are forced by untowardevents to consider them, find it easy to condone them. For all I know we are right to do this; they are part of us and we must accept the good and bad in ourselves together.

There is not much to choose between men. They are all a hotchpotch of greatness and littleness, of virtue and vice, of nobility and baseness. Some have more strength of character, or more opportunity, and so in one direction or another give their instincts freerplay, but potentially they are the same.

The knowledge that these reveriesare common to all men should inspire one with tolerance to oneself as well as to others. It is well also if they enable us to look upon our fellows, even the most eminent and respectable, with humor, and if they lead us to take ourselves not too seriously.

所有人都有这样的认识，这一认识可以激励我们宽容自己，也宽容他人。如果它们能使我们以幽默的眼光看待我们的同伴，即使是最杰出、最值得尊敬的人，假如我们能因此而不把自己看得太重要，那也很好。

For my part, I do not think I am any better or any worse than most people, but I know that if I set down every action in my life and every thought that has crossed my mind, the world would consider me a monster of depravity.

在我心里，我从不认为自己比大多数人更好或者更差，但我很清楚，如果我把我生命中的每一个举动和每一个掠过我脑海的想法都写下来，这个世界会认为我是一个堕落的怪物。
