茱蒂从小就一直生活在孤儿院里，是她不得不负担起许多沉重的工作，体会不到普通女孩拥有的家庭乐趣。但是有一天，有一位好心的先生决定资助她上大学，彻底改变了她的生活。茱蒂心里十分感谢这先生，发自内心的坚持每一段时间写信给这位先生。由于这位先生不知何名，但是特别高，茱蒂便叫这位先生“长腿先生”。
