Wow ,it seems that almost 70percent have got a social-networking
accout!!Uhm..that is a great poportion.I guess most of you must be using RENREN ,rightTo be honest ,i/m also a RENREN fan,but not that
crazy.However, I have always seeing students boiling their time on RENREN grumbling (oe wo say complaing) about all kinds of stuff,or share something all the time.
One day,I was scanning one of my friend Linda’s page on RENREN.and I noticed something quite strange .One of her share is 6 hours ago,the other 5hours ago,followed by a twitter about her meal 4hours ago ,and then a photo uploaded 3hours ago,and later is a most common calling on RENREN.You guess whatA requiring of friends coming to her page!!She will get the coming number up to 10000 soon!!

Actually,when most Chinese children are sddicted to RENREN,they ignored the first, the original ,the most creative version of social networking platform.I’m sure you guys know that,with the first letter of F. Oh,great ,facebook!!

Mark Zuckerberg co-created Facebook in his Harvard dorm room.
Mark Zuckerberg wrote Facemash, the predecessor to Facebook, on October 28, 2003, while attending Harvard as a sophomore.
To accomplish this, Zuckerberg hacked into the protected areas of
Harvard's computer network and copied the houses' private dormitory ID images.
Harvard at that time did not have a student "facebook" (a directory with photos and basic information). Facemash attracted 450 visitors and 22,000 photo-views in its first four hours online.[15][17]
The site spent quickly in Harvard, but it was shut down a few days later by the Harvard administration.
Zuckerberg was charged by the administration with breach of security, violating copyrights, and violating individual privacy, and faced expulsion. Ultimately, however, the charges were dropped.[18] Continue expansion
Zuckerberg expanded on this initial project that semester by creating a social study tool ahead of an art history final, by uploading 500 Augustan
images to a website, with one image per page along with a comment section.[17] He opened the site up to his classmates, and people started sharing their notes.
The following semester, Zuckerberg began writing code for a new website in January 2004. He was inspired, he said, by an editorial in The Harvard Crimson about the Facemash incident.[19] On February 4, 2004, Zuckerberg launched "Thefacebook", originally located at thefacebook.com.[20] Six days after the site launched, three Harvard seniors, Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra, accused Zuckerberg of intentionally misleading them into believing he would help them build a social network called HarvardConnection.com, while he was instead using their ideas to build a competing product.[21] The three complained to the Harvard Crimson, and the newspaper began an investigation. The three later
[22]filed a lawsuit against Zuckerberg, subsequently settling.
Membership was initially restricted to students of Harvard College, and within the first month, more than half the undergraduate population at Harvard was registered on the service.[23] Eduardo Saverin (business aspects), Dustin Moskovitz (programmer), Andrew McCollum (graphic artist), and Chris Hughes soon joined Zuckerberg to help promote the website. In March 2004, Facebook expanded to Stanford, Columbia, and Yale.[24] It soon opened to the other Ivy League schools, Boston University, New York University, MIT, and gradually most universities in Canada and the United States.[25][26]
Facebook incorporated in the summer of 2004, and the entrepreneur Sean Parker, who had been informally advising Zuckerberg, became the company's president.[27] In June 2004, Facebook moved its base of operations to Palo Alto, California.[24] It received its first investment later that month from PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.[28] The company dropped The from its name after purchasing the domain name facebook.com in 2005 for $200,000.[29]

Facebook launched a high-school version in September 2005, which

Traffic to Facebook increased steadily after 2009. More people visited Facebook than Google for the week ending March 13, 2010.[48]
In March 2011 it was reported that Facebook removes approximately 20,000 profiles from the site every day for various infractions, including spam, inappropriate content and underage use, as part of its efforts to boost cyber security.[49]
In early 2011, Facebook announced plans to move to its new headquarters, the former Sun Microsystems campus in Menlo Park, California.[50][51] Release of statistics by DoubleClick showed that Facebook reached one trillion pageviews in the month of June 2011, making it the most visited website in the world.[52] It should however be noted that Google and some of its selected websites are not counted in the DoubleClick rankings.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!
In the year 1998, a company called Tencent was founded in Shenzhen—the Chinese window to the world in South China.It launched its first internet product –the OICQ, and QQ in brief in China market. For my generation, signing up for a QQ account, logging in, and chatting with friends became a prevailing fashion. A flashing portrait of penguin at the right bottom of desktop is a unique feature of my generation. That is also my first experience with the Internet. How amazing it was!
Today, as of December 2014, there were about 0.65 billion net citizens in China, and the Internet use rate across the country was 48%. This means half of us Chinese are involved in a connected world, and we are becoming the true global villagers. The most influential Internet companies in China—Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent have been forming the strongest BAT that hits every corner of our daily life. How does Internet impact us todayIs there any negative aspectI try to briefly answer these two questions in my talk today.
1. Advantages of Internet
Get access to information.The internet is a vast ocean of information. Anyone, anywhere with an internet connection can find out just about anything in just a matter of seconds. This even extends out towards various levels of formal education, such like distant education, MOOC, the Massive OpenOnline Course in detail.
Get new ways of shopping. Another great benefit of the internet is the ability to find just about anything you could want and even some things you might never have known existed for purchase. With a few simple clicks someone can buy everything from food and groceries to a car. Now we even have a special festival called “double eleven” which means November
11th. In that day, customers can buy goods with lowest price via the e-commerce
platform—Taobao.
Communicate with others on a global scale.Much like the original use of the Internet, communication across great distances is achievable in seconds. We can instant message allowing for direct communication or email someone a message for them to receive upon logging into their account.
2. Drawbacks to the Internet
Create new possibilities of crimes.Things like identity theft, privacy leaks, cyber bulling, and so on are all a result of this wired technology.
Get loss of privacy: If you use the Internet, your personal information such as your name, address, and so on can be accessed by other people.
Pornography: This is a very serious issue concerning the Internet, especially when it comes to young children. There are thousands of pornographic sites on the Internet that can be easily found and can be a detriment to letting children use the Internet.
3. Conclusion
The Internet as a whole is a like any other resource. How it is used all depend on the people using it. Much like a hammer, you can build a house or use it to commit a crime. This does not of course reflect back on the hammer itself but how it is used. In the case of the internet, it is a little bit more complicated. While it can and is often used for good such as research and bringing people together it also is used for many illicit purposes.
